Permanent Makeup!!! Are you game for it??

November 30, 2010
How would you feel if someone told you that you could look perfect everyday!! Top of the world right?? What if you could have lined lips, eyes that look like you have applied eyeliner without having to go through your makeup routine everyday? Wonderful isn’t it??? Welcome to the world of Permanent Makeup!!
Frankly I wasn’t really aware of this whole concept and world of permanent makeup until a few days back when I read an article in a newspaper and that is what sent me on a search of this whole different world for me…
Other names of Permanent Makeup, commonly known as Cosmetic Tattooing are dermapigmentation & micropigmentation. The technique used is the same as that used for body tattoos in which a colored pigment is deposited into the upper layer of the dermis. This helps in restoring the natural skin color.
What all can you get done/corrected with Cosmetic Tattooing?
You can enhance most of the facial features with cosmetic tattooing like..
Lip Tattoo : Not happy with your lips? Too thin or too thick for your liking?? Find using lipstick too much of a hassle everyday?? Don’t you worry!! Lip tattooing comes to your rescue. You can make your thin lips appear fuller and thick lips appear thinner!! With lip tattooing you can also impart permanent color to your lips or give a new shape if you dislike your natural lip shape. You can also give a permanent lip liner to your lips..

Left : Lip lining ; Right : Permanent Lipstick
Permanent Eyeliner :  Like the name says, this will add a eyeliner for your entire lifetime!! No more resting arms against the walls for that perfect straight thin line.

Eyebrow tattooing : This one is the perfect answer for everyone who hate getting their eyebrows threaded or waxed. Create the perfectly done eyebrow with eyebrow tattooing and that too with permanent results! No more parlour visits every few days or before all those special occassions!
I have always admired Shilpa Shetty’s perfect-all-the-time eyebrows and not after reading my bit on cosmetic tattooing I am pretty sure I have got the secret behind her perfect eyebrows!
Got scanty eyebrows?? Fulfill your dream of that perfect eyebrow without the need for any eyebrow pencil, with the help of eyebrow feathering

Any risks? Ofcourse there are risks & cons associated with cosmetic tattooing and since this is going to be a permanent affair you definitely wanna take all the precautions you can to ensure nothing goes wrong..rite?

  • I dont need to say this, but still..ensure your tattoo artist is qualified enough to do this job and has the correct equipments for the same. Even if this means spending some more money, its all worth it at the end of the day. In some countries like the US, a permanent cosmetic technician should be registered with the FDA (food and Drug Association) and has to follow certain rules that have been put down by the FDA.
  • Ensure the artist uses only sterilised equipments and disposable needles.
  • Its a permanent commitment after all. What are you gonna do if you dont like it some years down the line. Tattoo removal is ofcourse an option but that may not be successful all the time. Results have proven that laser tattoo removal leave permanent scars in some cases and also cause infection etc.
  • You may not like the final outcome of the tattoo. It maybe too thin, too thick or too dark for your liking. Though some minor changes are possible by highly qualified technicians, they may not be possible in all cases. So think more than twice before getting it done.
The recovery period is pretty quick arnd 4-6 weeks. Though this is permanent makeup, the color does start fading over a period of time and a touch-up maybe required after some years.
And before signing off, leaving you with some pics of the results of cosmetic tattooing…all pics courtesy Google Images 🙂
And now that you didnt get bored and have actually read through the whole post, why dont you tell me what do you feel about permanent makeup? As far as I am concerned…Though I am tempted to get eyebrow tattooing done but on a more serious thought I guess I am pretty happy with my facial assests the way they are…I wouldnt like to get any permanent makeup done to them…and we are not that bad with the temporary makeup bit also na 🙂

I would never opt for something like this! I am so flighty & get bored so easily with my make-up colors, I try & use something different everyday – be it liner or lipstick shades. Sometimes for some looks I want my eyebrows to be well defined & thick, sometimes I don't.. Why commit to one when you can have so much fun with all? lol 😀 😀

  8. November 30, 2010 6:15 pm

yeah Tanveer…absolutely correct…this is def not for ppl like us who get bored very easily plus wouldnt we be less of humans if everything was just perfect…thn wht would we crib about rite ? 😀 😀

Permanent makeup doesn't work at all after you age. Your skin will sag naturally and hence the makeup will automatically move with your skin looking weird !! I don't know how people can take such risks..nope not for me 🙂

  10. November 30, 2010 7:18 pm

Hi Jan..very true…it is a huge risk specially if u see pics of such experiments gone wrong 🙂 and maybe thats the reason why celebrities need to get all those touch-up dones time and again which just worsens the situation with age 🙂

Although, I don't know if this falls into permanent makeup category, I do know of some girls who get their eyelashes tinted. It is temporary & washes away like hair dye. But then your eyes always look like you have mascara on. It sounds enticing to me, but I freak at the thought of something so chemically as hair dye put so close to my eyes..

  14. December 1, 2010 7:35 am

Thank you sooooo much Rashmi 🙂 perfect read?? woow..feels good to hear that..getting upper lips hair removed thru laser is very common these days..

  15. December 1, 2010 7:37 am

Yeah that too kinda falls into this same category…the thght itself is too scary!!

  16. December 21, 2010 8:01 pm

tattooed eyebrows sounded like a good idea, kinda safe too until i read jan's comment. omg so true!!!

  17. December 24, 2010 10:27 am

does sound like a gr8 idea..but I am not sure if its so safe too…and I agree wht Jan said..very true

  18. December 30, 2010 4:32 pm

No. Noways… I am always all for the natural look… even otherwise, I dont like using makeup.. nothing looks prettier than a fresh, glowing, natural face without make-up. Thats my opinion. You shld let your skin breathe as much as possible … so without any make-up is the best way it can breathe ! So when I am not a fan of temporary make-up, there's no way I wld like permanent makeup !

  19. December 30, 2010 9:14 pm

hmmm…so you dont like to / use any kind of makeup on a daily basis?? I mean a kajal & lipstick or anything? I am also not pro for such permanent techniques but to each his own 🙂

  20. December 31, 2010 11:30 am

Nope. I dont use any make-up at all on a daily basis… Infact,I hv seen a few gals in college who do it.. their faces look so caked … As for me, I use no make-up at all on a daily basis.. infact, i dont like it to use at functions like weddings too and so ppl r surprised.. lol. But i think it makes you stand out among ppl. However, I hv started using lipgloss for weddings and birthdays 🙂 And that too, cos someone gifted me a really cool lipgloss that has a pretty fancy brush to apply the product … so basically, I m all for the natural look !

  21. December 31, 2010 11:57 am

haha okay…well if thats the way you like it and makes you look and feel good its good!! Well even I never used alot of makeup in college…just a liner at times..its only in the last couple of years I've explored it more 🙂

  22. December 31, 2010 1:01 pm

Ok allrite, actually its also important to know how to apply it properly na… and i wldnt know the best and proper way to apply these products ! Gotta learn them well , only then can I venture further 🙂

  23. December 31, 2010 4:12 pm

well…applying lipstick/lipgloss and liner is no rocket science 😛 yes you do need to know the techniques to apply eyeshadow and blush and you'll only knw it if u try and with practice 😀

  24. December 31, 2010 4:44 pm

Lol. Isnt that obvious ! I wasnt talkng abt lipstick/lipgloss. I thot that wld be pretty evident if i already mentioned above that I have used those products… 😛 Was talkng abt mascara and eyeshadow and other looks like smoky eyes etc… anyways, i am not a big fan of makeup so i can always use expert help on whichever few occasions i need it.

  25. December 31, 2010 5:09 pm
